News anchor drops an f-bomb on air, somehow makes it worse

Every time a news anchor swears on the air, a unicorn is born.

Reading words off a teleprompter while looking into a camera and trying to look natural is no mean feat. It takes a lot of skill and experience, and most of us normals would struggle to do it.

Which makes it funny as hell when professionals themselves botch their lines and have an awkward time recovering from the mishap. In this particular clip leading into a report on food trucks, WXIN anchor Ray Cortopassi accidentally says “fuck” instead of “truck.”

Rather than skip over the flub effortlessly and move forward with the segment as if nothing happened, Cortopassi lets out a nervous laugh and says the word “truck” two more times. “What did you say?” his co-anchor chimes in, drawing yet more attention to the fuck-up. (See what I did there?) “Food truck fanatic,” he says. “That’s what I meant to say. Gulp.”

The blooper ends with an awkward high-five over the mistake and an embarrassed “Oh boy” from Cortopassi as the news cuts to a weather report, finally putting him out of his misery.
