Here are 9 things guaranteed to destroy your drone

The sky is a dangerous place indeed.

We get it: You have a nice, remote-controlled helicopter with a GoPro on it. (Excuse me, how impolite—I meant to say: You have a drone.) What we don’t get, however, is why you feel the need to publish every five-minute flight to YouTube and, subsequently, to your Facebook feed.

But perhaps we ought to be thankful for your aeronautic obsession, which has incidentally delivered something we can all enjoy: a vast array of spectacular crash videos. Below are nine sure-fire ways to ruin that coveted and no doubt pricey drone you just bought. Do beware of hawks.

1) Trees

Did you learn nothing from Charlie Brown and his kites? Those oxygen-producing bastards will knock a drone out of the air with the quickness.

2) Water

Apparently, you cannot pilot a drone underwater. Who knew?

3) Kangaroos

WORLDSTAR.

4) Geese

Damn, nature, you scary.

5) Drunk Sports Enthusiasts

Then again, Mother Earth isn’t all you have to worry about. Hockey fans in particular pose a huge threat to drones everywhere.

6) Extreme Bikers

Ditto motocross riders.

7) Hawks

In some cases, the drone-killer strikes from above.

8) Balloons

Another drone-destroyer that doesn’t get nearly enough recognition. This pilot managed to save his aircraft, but you might not be so lucky.

9) Trucks

Last, but most certainly not least, the big rig. These monster vehicles have an extreme disdain for drones and will do anything to take one out.

But just remember, while the drones may seem like the perennial victims here, sometimes they will strike back—and totally without mercy:
