This hilarious makeup tutorial brilliantly skewers ‘meninists’

Somehow, satirical makeup tutorials have become a genre unto themselves. YouTuber Megan Mckay previously went viral with her “Ray Rice makeup tutorial” (don’t worry, it is not what it sounds like), and now vlogger NerdyAndQuirky is taking aim at the so-called meninist movement.

What is “meninism”? Good question! It sounds like “feminism,” but it’s not—it’s all about the “rights and equality” of men. The name is used by a new offshoot of the anti-feminist group known as men’s rights activists, and NerdyAndQuirky describes it as “a movement of people too freakin’ lazy to do one Google search about feminism.” Yep, that sounds about right.

So far, meninism has mostly been restricted to a few embarrassing hashtags and some merchandise, and NerdyAndQuirky has had some fun parodying the main attributes of the movement.

The primer is "a solid base of 1,000-year-old patriarchy for our movement to adhere to."

According to this video, the best way to get the meninist look is to begin with a thick layer of foundation to hide any blemishes. “Use the color palette of a cracker for inspiration.”

“That’s right, cover up all your problems without actually fixing anything.” Ouch.

This cat-eye trick with scotch tape is pretty cool.

It gets better from there. Be careful not to get any eyeliner in your eyes—you might see some of the darkness you’re creating.

Comment on Reddit, she says, to remind the world that #notallmen are like this. Some, of course, don’t understand satire.
