President Donald Trump‘s administration is working on a proposal to snoop on social media sites like Twitter and Facebook to try and see if people claiming Social Security disability benefits are actually disabled, according to a new report.

The New York Times reports that the proposal would check recipients social media sites to see if they contradict disability claims.

According to the newspaper, the administration believes social media could be “a treasure trove of information about people who are applying for or receiving disability benefits.”

The proposal is expected to be announced in the president’s 2020 budget.

As the newspaper notes, some advocates for people with disabilities don’t believe social media posts would be a reliable way to see if someone is trying to skirt the Social Security benefits system.

Concerns include when a particular photograph was taken and the fact that people are more likely to share information online when they are happy, rather than showcasing injuries they received.
