Trump’s latest impeachment tweet inspires perfect meme

President Donald Trump inspired a new meme on Thursday after sending out an all-caps tweet denouncing his impeachment.

The tweet was made as the impeachment trial officially began in the U.S. Senate over charges that the president abused his power and obstructed Congress.

Trump’s tweet is in reference to his July 25 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in which the commander-in-chief asked the foreign leader to investigate presidential candidate Joe Biden.

Trump’s enraged statement spurred widespread ridicule and countless pictures of celebrities and animals on the telephone.

The meme also utilized arguably one of the most famous telephone references in pop culture: The song “Hello” by Lionel Richie.

Even Back to the Future villain Biff Tannen made an appearance, who, ironically enough, is actually based on Trump.

Another Twitter user remixed Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz’s “Get Low.”

“To the window … to the wall,” they wrote, and then Trump’s feature cuts in as a quote tweet: “I JUST GOT IMPEACHED FOR MAKING A PERFECT PHONE CALL!”

Of course, no phone reference would be complete without the appearance of Liam Neeson’s character in Taken.

Trump has until Saturday to respond to the Senate’s formal summons. And knowing Trump, he’ll probably use Twitter to do so.

So don’t be surprised when yet another ridiculous tweet transforms into a whole new flurry of impeachment-inspired internet memes.
