This goes without saying at this point, but there is always a tweet when it comes to President Donald Trump.
Trump held the White House Hanukkah celebration on Thursday night—several days before the start of the holiday—where he reportedly said it would go down as “especially special” in light of his announcement that the United States would observe Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and move the embassy there from Tel Aviv.
The president even tweeted several photos from the event and wished the “wonderful friends” in the photos a “very #HappyHanukkah.”
That’s all well and good, except he criticized former President Barack Obama for doing the exact same thing six years ago.
On Dec. 9, 2011, Trump openly asked why Obama held a Hanukkah celebration “early” and surmised that it was because Obama wanted to vacation in Hawaii instead, calling it “sad.”

Obama did not head to Honolulu until Dec. 23 of that year, two weeks after Trump’s tweet.
Trump is expected to arrive at his Mar-a-Lago resort on Friday night and remain there until Sunday. Hannukah starts on Dec. 12.
The president has an extensive history of his old tweets coming back to haunt him, directly contradict things he has done since taking office. Many of his tweets that contradict him seem to focus on Obama taking vacations and golfing. Trump has already spent 25 days at his Mar-a-Lago resort and golfed 78 times.
