For a fleeting moment on Monday morning, President Donald Trump followed the news outlet he mocks the most: CNN.

But it appears that the president wasn’t symbolically burying the hatchet with CNN, which he has railed against consistently since the 2016 election. Only a few hours later, the president appeared to have a change of heart and unfollowed the news outlet.

Trump Alert, a Twitter bot that tracks likes, follows, and unfollows for all of the Trump family, spotted the president’s new follow early Monday morning, bringing the total amount of accounts he follows from 45 to 46.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment by the Daily Dot regarding Trump’s fleeting follow of CNN.

Trump’s animosity toward CNN is well documented. On Twitter, he’s called the news outlet: “fake news,” a “big ratings loser,” “the least trusted name in news,” “#FraudNewsCNN,” and accused them of publishing “phony stories” and having “low ratings.

He has also shared several doctored GIFs and images depicting him being violent toward CNN.

Last July, the president shared a GIF of attacking Vince McMahon with CNN’s logo superimposed on him. Five months later, Trump retweeted a photo of him sitting in a limo with a blood smatter on his shoe with CNN’s logo in the middle of it.

CNN was one of the news outlets the president featured prominently in his “Fake News Awards” that he conceived late last year. The “awards,” which were announced on the Republican Party’s website, had CNN coming in third place, sixth place, seventh place, and ninth place.

This isn’t the first time Trump has had some Twitter gaffes with his least favorite news outlet. Last May, he retweeted Drudge Report link about Mexico being “the second deadliest country in 2016” that was from CNN, effectively sharing a CNN link with his millions of Twitter followers.

But this time, many people were quick to point out that it was odd that the president had followed CNN.

While Trump may have been quick to unfollow CNN after several Twitter users noticed it, he still hasn’t unliked his first ever “like” on Twitter, which was of someone making fun of him.
