President Trump donated his first three months of salary to the National Park Service (NPS), White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer announced on Monday.

“The president is personally proud to contribute the first quarter of his salary to the important mission of the park service, which is preserving our country’s national security,” Spicer announced.

Spicer handed a check of $78,333.32 to the NPS Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke. Zinke said the donation will go toward maintaining historic battlefield sites. Trump ran his campaign on the promise that he would donate his president’s salary, and brought it up again shortly after winning the election in November.

Trump’s favorability ratings have seen all-time low throughout his first three months as president, according to poll data from top news networks. After failing to pass his Obamacare replacement last month, his approval rating fell to just 36 percent.
