President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign is now on one more social network.
President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign joined Google+ yesterday, just another in the handful of 2012 White House contenders and politicians who have made the move to Google’s social media platform in recent weeks.
Two weeks ago, Google announced that brands could start having their own Google+ pages and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and NASA were two of the earliest adopters. On Wednesday, Obama’s campaign started its Google+ page. It was unclear , how many people had added the President in their circle since the number was hidden.
“Welcome to the Obama 2012 Google+ page. We’re still kicking the tires and figuring this out, so let us know what you’d like to see here and your ideas for how we can use this space to help you stay connected to the campaign,” the campaign wrote.
Within a few hours of launching the page, the campaign had posted a few videos and pictures, but activity was still limited.
