Kid Rock launches voter registration effort amid Senate speculation
The speculation continues.

Bob Ritchie, aka Kid Rock, announced on Wednesday that he has created a non-profit to promote voter registration, just a few weeks after he mysteriously teased a possible run for U.S. Senate.
In a statement posted on his website, Kid Rock addressed the rumors that swirled after he confirmed the validity of kidrockforsenate.com and spoke about what he has done since then.
“As part of the excitement surrounding this possible campaign, I decided to take a hard look to see if there was real support for me as a candidate and my message or if it was just because it was a fresh new news story,” he wrote. “The one thing I’ve seen over and over is that although people are unhappy with the government, too few are even registered to vote or do anything about it.”
The non-profit, a 501(c)(4), will allow him to raise money for voter registration and “help get people registered to vote at my shows,” he wrote.
Kid Rock, a steadfast supporter of President Donald Trump, also addressed how “the media” speculated that his hypothetical run for Senate “was a ploy” to sell merchandise.
“I can tell you, I have no problem selling Kid Rock shirts and yes, I absolutely will use this media circus to sell/promote whatever I damn well please (many other politicians are doing the same thing, they just feed you a bunch of bullshit about it),” he wrote.

Kid Rock ended the statement by promising to hold a press conference “in the next 6 weeks.”
“If I decide to throw my hat in the ring for US Senate, believe me… it’s game on mthrfkers [sic],” he wrote.
Speculation on a Kid Rock Senate run started earlier this month when he tweeted: “I have had a ton of emails and texts asking me if this website is real… http://kidrockforsenate.com The answer is an absolute YES.”
The website featured a button for people to subscribe to updates and an option to buy swag with “Kid Rock For U.S. Senate” written on them. Slogans that appeared on the website included: “Party to the People,” “I’ll Rock the Party,” “Get in the Senate and Try to Help Someone,” and “Pimp of the Nation.”
