The majority of American voters think Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner’s roles in the White House are unacceptable, according to a new survey.
A Quinnipiac University poll found that 53 percent of respondents think Ivanka’s “significant role in the White House” is not appropriate. Seventy-four percent of Republican respondents deem her role appropriate, while only receiving 13 percent approval from Democrats. Kushner is a senior adviser to President Donald Trump, while daughter Ivanka is an assistant who works out of the White House.
As for the first son-in-law, 53 percent of respondents think Kushner’s White House role is also inappropriate. As with Ivanka, Kushner receives more favorability support from Republicans with 66 percent approving his role, compared to only 14 percent of Democrats.
Overall Ivanka enjoyed a 36 percent favorability rating among those polled, which was more than double of Kushner’s 15 percent. However 50 percent of respondents say they don’t hear enough about him to harbor a strong opinion.
The poll also shows that 73 percent of Republican respondents find First Lady Melania Trump favorable, compared to only 9 percent of Democrat respondents.
The poll was conducted April 12-18 among 1,062 registered voters. The margin of error is 3 percentage points.
