In an excerpt obtained by the Guardian of New York Times writer Amy Chozick’s new Clinton biography, the Democratic nominee would vent her frustration in advance of the debates, including during one prep session:
“You want authentic, here it is!” she’d yelled in one prep session, followed by a fuck-laced fusillade about what a “disgusting” human being Trump was and how he didn’t deserve to even be in the arena.
During the debates, Clinton was forced into an impossible position of needing to keeping her cool whenever her opponent overreacted, while also not appearing inauthentic or emotionless.
“Aides understood that in order to keep it all together onstage, Hillary sometimes needed to unleash on them in private,” Chozick wrote in Chasing Hillary: Ten Years, Two Presidential Campaigns and One Intact Glass Ceiling.
The book also reveals the campaign’s response to James Comey’s infamous disclosure about reopening the Clinton email server case just days before the election.
