Donald Trump Jr. is lawyering up.

Trump Jr. has hired Alan Futerfas, a New York-based lawyer, to represent him on Russia-related investigations, according to multiple media reports.

Futerfas is a sole practitioner who specializes in “traditional and white collar cases,” according to his website.

Trump Jr.’s decision to hire a lawyer to represent him in all matters related to the ongoing investigations into whether members of President Donald Trump’s campaign worked with Russia to help get him elected comes on the heels of a report over the weekend by the New York Times that shed light on a meeting he had in June 2016 with a Russian lawyer.

The meeting, which was reportedly held with former campaign chair Paul Manafort and Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, was called because the Russian lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, said she had “information helpful to the campaign” that showed “individuals connected to Russia were funding the Democratic National Committee and supporting” Hillary Clinton, according to a statement by Trump Jr.

While it is unclear whether Veselnitskaya actually gave the Trump campaign information, Trump Jr. said Veselnitskaya’s statements were “vague, ambiguous, and made no sense” and “no details or supporting information was provided or even offered.”

The Times reported that the meeting between Veselnitskaya and the Trump campaign members was the “first public indication that at least some in the campaign were willing to accept Russian help” during the 2016 presidential election.

In May, President Trump hired his long-time lawyer and ally Marc Kasowitz to defend him in Russia-related investigations.
