President Donald Trump’s physician of nearly three decades said Tuesday that the president “dictated” an effusive, adjective-filled letter about his health that made headlines in 2015.

“He dictated that whole letter. I didn’t write that letter,” Dr. Harold Bornstein told CNN. “I just made it up as I went along.”

Trump’s campaign released the letter, signed by Bornstein, in response to questions at the time about the state of the then-candidate’s health. The letter garnered media attention for Bornstein, who thought he should be the White House physician.

“Mr. Trump has had a recent complete medical examination that showed only positive results,” Bornstein’s letter said. “Actually, his blood pressure, 110/65, and laboratory test results were astonishingly excellent.”

“His physical strength and stamina are extraordinary,” Bornstein added. “If elected, Mr. Trump, I can state unequivocally, will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency.”

Bornstein on Tuesday also claimed Trump officials raided his office last year in a search for medical files. The White House refuted Bornstein’s characterization of the search, saying it was “standard procedure.”
