As Republicans continue to control both houses of Congress and the executive branch, Democrats are planning to campaign on everyday issues in 2018 and 2020.

The plan, which would focus on raising people’s wages, creating better jobs, and cutting everyday expenses was called “A Better Deal” by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) on ABC’s This Week over the weekend.

Here’s what you need to know:

People want more than just “anti-Trump:” While President Donald Trump remains deeply unpopular among Americans, it’s clear that many voters want to vote for a candidate who has concrete policy proposals rather than just being anti-Trump. A recent poll found that 52 percent of Americans think the Democrats are only standing against Trump. That will need to change if Democrats hope to gain political power back.

The plan will be announced today: Top Democrats are going to announce their proposals to help middle-class workers in Berryville, Virginia—a county that Trump won against Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election, the Washington Post reported. This can be seen as a harbinger of the Democrats strategy to flip red districts in 2018 and beyond.

What’s in the plan: According to Bloomberg, the plan will focus on ways to lower prescription drug prices, provide federal funding for job training programs, and monitor corporate mergers—all things that they believe will resonate with Trump voters.

Hopefully, this is better than other plans: Recent slogans released by Democrats have been assailed by people online for failing to make a convincing point or simply being too gaudy or meme-able.
