Capitol Police have arrested a 27-year-old former congressional intern for allegedly posting the personal information of several senators on Wikipedia last week.
Jackson A. Cosko, of Washington D.C., was charged with making public restricted personal information, witness tampering, threats in interstate communications, unauthorized access of a government computer, identity theft, second-degree burglary, and unlawful entry, the U.S. Capitol Police said in a statement.
Authorities added that the investigation is continuing and more charges may be brought against Cosko.
Cosko had worked as an intern for Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Tx.) and was fired, Politico reports. The news outlet notes he also previously worked for Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.) and former Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.).
The arrest comes after at least three Republican senators, Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), had their personal information—including cellphone numbers, email addresses, and home addresses—posted online.
The personal information was posted after the senators questioned Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, who alleges that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when the two of them were in high school.
