A British teenager has been arrested for allegedly posting hateful things about dead soldiers on his Facebook wall.

According to Sky News, 19-year-old Azhar Ahmed was arrested for “a racially aggravated public order offence,” in which he insulted six British soldiers killed in an explosion in Afghanistan last week.

Ahmed’s Facebook account doesn’t appear to be active, but a screengrab of an anti-soldier rant is referenced by several media outlets.  As to what got Ahmed in trouble, it reads, in full:

“People gassin about the deaths of Soldiers! What about the innocent familys who have been brutally killed.. The women who have.been raped.. The children who have been sliced up..! Your enemy’s were the Taliban not innocent harmful familys. All soldiers should DIE & go to HELL! THE LOWLIFE FOKKIN SCUM! gotta problem go cry at your soldiers grave & wish him hell because that’s where he is going”

Of note is that nothing in his post even hints at race. The six soldiers who were killed all were white.

In the wake of Ahmed’s arrest, a Facebook group called Azhar Ahmed Scum has sprung up and received over 2,000 likes.

Some of the page’s comments are focused on honoring the troops who were killed: “We salute you and all the soldiers that are fighting for the right cause, especially those who are still joining up when they know the risks!” wrote the page’s moderator.

Many other Facebook users, however, use the page to insult Ahmed or express anti-immigration sentiment.

“Ure da low life scum fuk of and die u fukin lil shit !” wrote Jamie Phillipson.

“who cares all the cunts need to get out of our countries we soldier are out there fighting for there fucking countries to be safe n yet they go on n go on about it,” wrote Nathan Davies.

“Its simple if the dont like our soldiers or respect them for tryin to make there counteries safe then they can pack there bags n leave,” wrote Terri Louise.
