According to new data from Tinder, if you’re not using a GIF or an emoji in your messaging with potential dates, you may as well put up a giant sign that says “swipe left” on your profile. The company says GIF messages are 30 percent more likely to receive a response, and those with GIFs last twice as long as those without.
However, there are a hell of a lot of GIFs out there, and you don’t want to be caught sending a “hugging monkey” when you really mean “Rihanna waving hi.”
