Police in Pennsylvania have arrested a man for assaulting a teenage boy one night in August—and it wouldn’t have happened without the help of a meme.

David Edward McCosby, 53, was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor simple assault for his connection in the Aug. 27 attack on a 17-year-old in Pennsylvania’s Shenango Township, according to a Smoking Gun report.

And apparently, the bald, bespectacled man is also guilty of Tebowing—or dropping to one knee in a sign of prayer, à la New York Jets quarterback and enthusiastic evangelist Tim Tebow, who made praying so cool last year that Joan Rivers almost converted to Christianity.

Investigators said that the assault occurred when the teenager—who was on his parents’ property mowing the lawn—drove the riding mower “onto the road, apparently into the path” of McCosby’s car.

McCosby then allegedly exited his vehicle, approached the teen, and “knocked the juvenile off the lawn mower and assaulted him in the front yard of the residence.”

According to police reports, before fleeing the scene, McCosby then “got onto his knee in what appeared to be a prayer.

“Witnesses described it as a ‘Tebow.'”

Shenango Township police have yet to schedule a preliminary hearing for McCosby, but you can be sure that the man will be hoping that he has God—or maybe just Tebow—on his side when the day does come.
