Lorde doesn’t need your acne advice

If you’re a famous woman online, strangers often want to give you unsolicited advice. For Lorde, that advice is often about her face.

The singer posted Instagram stories about her life-long struggle with acne, and how much it “sucks.” She emphasized that as someone who’s dealt with it for years, what is not helpful is when people tell her to use moisturizer, or worse: “Make a mask out of honey, greek yogurt, and avocado,” she says, sticking out her tongue and rolling her eyes. Then of course there are people who straight-up ask if she washes her face.

“Yes, I wash my face. I’m just genetically cursed.”

She ends the clip by assuring other people out there with acne: “We’ll get there, we will.”
