Lizzo sat courtside at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, taking in action between the Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday night. Of course, celebrities usually line the courts–but not always in a black T-shirt dress with a specific section removed to reveal her almost-naked cheeks in a black thong and black fishnet stockings.
Yet here was Lizzo, breaking it down, as cheerleaders did a whole routine to her Billboard-charting hit single, “Juice.” She happily twerked it out to the delight of the crowd.

Many, many, opinions arose–open or closeted fatphobia, sex-positivity, and what is or isn’t for public consumption. Social media is currently jam-packed with ugly, mean-spirited memes, too.
The other matter at hand? Hygiene. Some, mostly women, weren’t upset at all about the twerking. But they were concerned about the cleanliness of an arena seat.
