amazon giftcard (l) Woman greenscreen tiktok video with text ' Hi, Alexis. Thank you for letting us use your apartment last month for our property inspections! Your unit impressed so many people at the corporate office, that I am reaching out to see if you'd be comfortable with us photographing your apartment to use as our 'staged' photos for the blank studio floorplan. We would not photograph any personal items- we're mostly just trying to show the furniture layout, scale off furniture, use of space etc. Your apartment is adorable, and I know your unit would help generate interest when we advertise the floorplan. We would provide you with an Amazon gift card, and I would have my on-site cleaner coe clean your apartment for you' (r)

Commenters suggested she needed to advocate for more than just a gift card. “Ask for a discount on rent. They’re saving money by not hiring an interior decorator,” one person recommended.

“I did this once for a $50 gift card lol they used it in ALL their marketing. Looking back I should have asked for more but I didn’t know any better,” another said, to which the Poserio responded that she’s nervous to ask for anything extra.

In another comment, Poserio said her building offers a $300 rent credit to anyone who refers a future tenant to the building. “I mean I am kind of referring people in a way,” she wrote.

In a follow-up, Poserio revealed property management is bringing in a staging company.

In a pinned comment under the video, Poserio updated her followers and told them she asked for “rent/parking credit or discount” instead.

“I will let you guys know when they respond!!” she promised.

Update 11:22am CT March 23: When reached for comment, Poserio told the Daily Dot that ever since she posted the TikTok, she’s been getting inundated with supportive messages.

“A small majority of comments (are) saying that it was greedy and unrealistic to ask for anything extra,” she said.

Poserio said she doesn’t regret asking property management for a rent credit or discount, as many viewers suggested.

“I did miss out on an Amazon gift card but I am sure I can manage without it,” she said. “It would have been cool to see professional photos of my apartment on our website but I am not really upset about them bringing in a staging company!”

She also said it’s “been crazy to see” just how viral her TikTok went.

“I am also getting a lot of compliments on my apartment tour tik tok so that makes me feel really good,” she said.
