Far-right media personality Jack Posobiec may have “zero intention” of watching Wonder Woman, ever. But that hasn’t stopped him from filing a discrimination complaint for being unable to purchase a ticket for one of Alamo Drafhouse’s limited women-only Wonder Woman screenings.
On Wednesday, Posobiec, a reporter with the Rebel Media, announced that he had filed a civil rights complaint with New York City against Alamo Drafthouse and Carson Daly. According to the screenshot of the complaint accompanying his tweet, Posobiec attempted to purchase a ticket to one of the Drafthouse’s women-only showings of Wonder Woman, which trolls have decried since the screenings were first announced for the Austin, Texas theater last week.
Since expanding the limited women-only screenings to other Alamo Drafthouse locations in the U.S., Drafthouse has since clarified that they want everyone to see the film—not just women.
“I was refused the ability to purchase a ticket to a movie this weekend at the Alamo Drafthouse because of my male gender,” Posobiec wrote in the complaint. “Carson Daly then went on his Today Show to advocate for the business [sic] clear violation of my civil rights.”

Posobiec also hosted a 16-minute Periscope feed in which he challenged Daly to a “debate on sexism,” as if the TV personality was the first and only man to advocate for women.

Posobiec had previously been shut down by a female Lucasfilm executive earlier this week for proposing that men have a men-only Star Wars screening for the upcoming film. Prior to that, however, Posobiec had supposedly boycotted the series after Rogue One included “anti-Trump scenes.”

According to NYC.gov, filed complaints are mediated or withdrawn during the investigation process led by the Law Enforcement Bureau. If it’s determined that there was probable cause for discrimination, the Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings will take part in litigation. If not, the decision can be appealed.
Should Posobiec choose to partake in mediation with Alamo Drafthouse and Daly as a result of his complaint, maybe he’ll learn a thing or two about why having a handful of women-only screenings for an important female comic book character isn’t detrimental to men.
The Twitter account for Alamo Drafthouse’s Brooklyn, New York location originally tweeted a simple “uh, hey,” to Daly, but immediately deleted the tweet. Representatives for Alamo Drafthouse didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
