A YouTube video showcasing Hurricane Sandy’s immense power also highlights the selfless nature of New York City rescue workers.

Images and reports of Sandy tearing off a wall on Manhattan’s 8th Avenue spread across Twitter Monday evening. The Huffington Post’s Meg Robertson cited some residents as saying the same thing happened to the building 20 years ago.

The video, captured by YouTuber MarkLeeTx, initially shows flashing fire trucks lighting up the dark street as the facade breaks off.

Mere seconds after the frontage disappears in a cloud of smoke, New York City Fire Department workers rush in to ensure the safety of inhabitants. The department reported that no one was hurt or trapped in the collapse.
