When doctors pull cool stuff out of your insides, they can show it off to the other medical professionals in the room, but there’s no easy way for them to showcase their handiwork to the global medical community. An app called Figure 1, however, makes it a snap for medical professionals to share photos of anatomical wonders with each other—and some of these photos are pretty gnarly.

Figure 1 has been around since 2013, and the podcast Reply All even devoted an episode to it last fall. But recently, non-medical professionals started using the app to satisfy their curiosity about the wonders (re: horrors) of the human body.

Users can search for pictures by location on body or by medical specialty. Whether you’re a neurologist who wants to examine abnormal brain scans, a dermatologist who wants to look at skin conditions, or just a plain ol’ weirdo, there’s something on Figure 1 for you.

The app also has a Facebook-style newsfeed of the latest photos to be uploaded to Figure 1, and those who upload the photos will often write a short appraisal of the patient’s condition.

As far as we can tell, the only thing Figure 1 is missing are some hip photo filters like Amaro or Mayfair to give that snapshot of a broken back the retro look it deserves.
