. . .
Welcome to your November horoscope! Scorpio season is upon us. The days are getting shorter and our descent into a darker, more mysterious side of life has begun. For some, this is cause to celebrate—excitement, intrigue, and deeper connections are all a part of Scorpio season. For others, it might feel rocky. Scorpio has no patience for making nice—it wants meaning, depth, and transformation, no matter the cost.
Highlights: On Election Day, Mars will form a harmonious sextile with Uranus. Mars, the planet of aggressive action, will be in Aquarius, the sign of freedom and utopian ideals. Uranus, meanwhile, will be in Taurus, a sign that is willing to do endless amounts of work to yield results. This could mean a fruitful election season that pushes us in the direction of wide-scale growth and progress. It could also spell a time when we will be forced to take massive collective action to work toward a more humane society. In short, don’t stay home on Election Day. And if you don’t like the results, now is a time to gather with like-minded individuals and do the work to make yourselves heard.
Other notable alignments: On Nov. 8, Venus in Libra will square Pluto in Capricorn. This could spell power struggles in key relationships. Libra is always willing to compromise in order to love and be loved in return. But Pluto is willing to burn bridges and tear down everything that has ever given you a sense of stability or certainty. Sitting in Capricorn, Pluto is concerned with doing away with any systems that no longer serve us. If something is off in your relationship, it will be highlighted and massively. Sweeping conflicts under the rug right now just won’t do. But take a cue from Libra’s talent for saying things kindly. If you can see both sides of the issue with clarity, and be honest about what’s no longer working, your relationships have the potential to radically transform right now, and for the better.
Much like that emoji who is perpetually stroking his chin, you are currently preoccupied with deep existential thoughts, like “Who am I going to have birthday sex with?” It’s your season and you can’t quite decide if you want to go into hibernation (or a sex cave), or hop on a motorcycle and tear up the road. If you do exit your cave, you’ll find yourself on the receiving end of a lot of attention this month. Yes, all eyes are on you. For most Scorpios, this could lead to anxious thoughts about who really likes you, who’s trustworthy, and how to seek revenge on all your mortal energies. If you find yourself getting too self-obsessed, the best way to clear your mind could be outside of yourself. Pick up some new books on a topic you’ve been curious about but haven’t explored. It’s OK to get lost in thought from time to time, but you’ll find inner calm when you stimulate your mind with new ideas.
Break out that megaphone! You have a lot to say this month and plenty of people are going to hear you. You may find yourself in a leadership role, or simply in the spotlight. Not all of your messages will be met with thunderous applause, but this isn’t a bad thing. You can’t base your truth, or your leadership skills, on pleasing others. Right now, you’ve got to trust your own inner compass. But don’t expect people to respect you if you can’t listen as much as you speak. If you want to keep the dove of peace in your corner, you have to be willing to hear people out. If you find yourself overwhelmed by all the noise, seek refuge on a peaceful getaway where you can collect your thoughts. If you can’t leave your regular surroundings, give yourself the gift of a freshly cleaned home. Declutter and discard all the clothing, receipts, and wine bottles that have been piling up. Especially mid-month, when Mercury stations retrograde in your sign, making your home sparkle will make outside battles feel easier.
Right now, your partnerships are calling you for sweetness and support. You, on the other hand, have a clipboard of things you’d like to get done so you can make it to the top of the latest mountain you’ve set your sights on. The people who love you want to help you get there, they really do, but they may feel overwhelmed by your matter-of-fact style right now. Your world has gone through a whirlwind of changes as of late, so it makes sense that you are eager to create new structures now that feel solid and dependable. The best way to get things done right now is to take a cue from the more sheepish people in your orbit who know how to be soft and gentle. You can build a brick house without breaking your back. You can welcome ease into all the work you’ve been doing. And you can whisper kind words to yourself and others even when you are fighting urgently for change. Bring the strong you and the soft you to all that you do this month and you’ll be invincible.
You have a tendency to play the lone wolf, but this month, you’re a mover and a shaker. The planets are aligning to celebrate your talents, so make the most of it, and don’t be afraid to toot your own horn. If you’ve been contemplating a big move in your work life, or your personal life, go for it. Trust that you will get the support you need. You may also be called upon to support an important cause or take the lead on an important project. If you are hesitant to get involved with bigger projects right now, take an honest look at what’s holding you back. Are you worried you’ll break off more than you can chew? If it’s a fear of failure that’s tripping you up, trust that that fear is unfounded. You have the know-how, the strength and—for the moment—the energy to get big things done. You can rest on your laurels later.
Have things been going swimmingly for you? Or have you felt like it’s an effort to keep your head above water? Maybe it’s a bit of both, these days. If you feel like you’re swimming laps non-stop, consider that you are allowed to tread water. You don’t have to fight the current or drown. You can embrace stillness. The new moon that comes mid-month is a wonderful opportunity for you to engage in quiet introspection. Tell yourself—and anyone else who’s been urging you to just “keep going”—to pause. Take stock of your deepest dreams, your rawest emotions, and your shifting longings. Consider what you can let go of and what you need to give voice to. When you speak your fears aloud, they might suddenly seem very small. Conversely, if you’re finding yourself intimidated by people who speak harshly, remember that there is strength in your gentle nature. No one can set a lake on fire, but your watery energy can extinguish even a mighty flame.
You are a true individual, but this month you have to learn to play with others. Whether you’re part of a new team at work, or you’re getting together with friends and family for the beginning of the holiday season, it’s essential that you view yourself as part of the whole. You may find aspects of the work you’re called to do right now unappealing. You love to stand out and you want recognition for your unique nature. Trust that serving the group now will serve you later. If you’re feeling bummed out, try making this challenging period into a sort of game. Be a detective and investigate how your unique gifts can serve the groups you’re a part of. Do you make a killer apple crumble? Are you a beast when it comes to getting things done in the office? Every group needs a leader, and some need several. Be open to finding new ways that your gifts serve the whole. You’ll be surprised at how brightly you shine once you let go of your need to be noticed.
With the Sun sitting in your opposite sign, and the new moon also in Scorpio on the 7th, this month invites you to explore your shadow side. What parts of yourself are you hesitant to show to those who know and love you best? And what do you risk losing when you let your guard down completely? Scorpio wants to show you that your partnerships can achieve new depth, but only if you’re willing to do some deep-diving. Don’t fear the abyss. You’ve put in too much work for your foundations to be shaky. This month is a time to put your faith in unknowns. Set an anchor down and go spelunking in the deep dark cave you’ve been avoiding. You’ll be amazed at all the gems you’ve collected on your return.
This month may hit you harder than most. Normally, you have a gift for lightness and living moment to moment. But Scorpio season wants to dig up hard truths, and with your ruler Mercury, sitting in your opposite sign, fiery Sagittarius, you may feel like your daily work or home life is sitting atop a volcano. The best thing you can do to weather this period of trial by fire is set your sights on creating healthy routines. Get back to the spin class that you love, cook the meals that nourish you most, make time for a warm bath, or get back into a journaling routine. Daily tasks that have felt like a chore in the past will reap big rewards right now. The full moon in your sign on Nov. 23 will illuminate the fruits of your labor. This month may feel chaotic, but if you do the work of creating your own sense of stability, you’ll feel stronger, wiser, and sharper than ever.
You may feel more at home in Scorpio season than most. And not just because you love nesting and making big hearty meals in your crockpot. Scorpio wants to feel it all, and you feel more than you’d like to most of time. This month should be smooth sailing for you. Even if your emotions are running high, the feelings you feel will be quite cathartic. Whether you’re in the creative flow or having an ugly cry, you’ll find yourself more at home in your skin than you have for some time. This is likely because the sun in Scorpio isn’t afraid of your deep dark feelings, and that’s a huge comfort to Cancer. You may still be carrying wounds, sadness, and there may be some deep lessons to learn, but right now, you will feel safer to meet these challenges. This is a time to see yourself and to let others see you. Enjoy this moment, even if it isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Showing your most vulnerable self and being embraced is an important lesson for you. Let your heart mend and welcome all that healing in.
You’re a child of the sun, and winter is challenging for you. You crave sunshine and play (and heaps of attention) and right now it may feel a little out of reach. This is a time to make friends with your demons. Once you give them the attention you’ve been craving they might just turn out to be goofy, fun-loving beasts. Don’t assume that the parts of you that are struggling aren’t lovable. People love you when you’re putting on a show or tearing up the dance floor, but they also love your heart. And that’s something that can shine in all seasons. And hey, if you’re really in need of a pick-me-up before you bare your soul, treat yourself a new statement scarf or a furry hat. Strut your new winter look, even if it’s just for yourself, in front of your favorite full-length mirror. Who cares if Halloween’s over and summer feels miles away? You can still play dress up and be fabulous, sparkly, you.
This month is calling you to get up and go and get things done. It may feel like every day the morning sun is glaring in your face and an early alarm clock is shouting your name. You may find yourself constantly galloping toward an imaginary finish line, and you’ll likely be frustrated by the spontaneity of your days. How can there be so much to do and so little time to get it all done? You want things to be polished and organized before execution, but this month, you’ve got to dive in and improvise. This is a chance for you to trust that your raw talents are just as valuable as your organizing skills. You may be dependable, practical, and earthy, but there’s a fiery shine to who you are when you go for what you really want. Don’t assume a lack of preparation will spell disaster or even failure. You can paint with your fingers and still create a masterpiece. Be open to the lessons that come your way about who you are under pressure, and what you miss out when you spend too much time obsessing over details. If you keep your eye on the big picture, you’ll do just fine.
You want romance and you want it now! This month, with Venus stationing direct in your sign, you’ll feel your perpetual hunger for love and beauty from your head to your toes. But right now it feels as though there are so many obstacles to getting there. There is so much work to be done. And no matter how much of a pleaser you tend to be, it seems are certain people you just can’t please. The solution? Let go of the idea that you can smooth everything over into some kind of fairytale ending. You’re in for a much deeper and richer kind of love than the one you dreamed about when you were little. Accept all the variations of thorny romance that come your way. Love the bumps, the bruises, and the hiccups that are guiding you through this chapter of growth and transformation. Let yourself fall a little out of love with your old notions of romance and a little more in love with you. Buy your own flowers and take yourself out to look at the night sky. Wish new wishes and dream new dreams.
