One of the early gems on YouTube was Keith Apicary’s Talking Classics webseries. Keith was a hardcore Sega nerd who rambled on about the merits of blast processing and how Sonic the Hedgehog is way better than Mario. Keith had a dedicated fanbase, created some music videos, got in trouble with WWE wrestler Dolph Ziggler, and even ended up in a music video with Kimberly Cole.

And then Keith stopped talking about video games.

Now, actor Nathan Barnatt wants to bring back Talking Classicsthis time with the help of the Internet and the crowdfunding subscription service Patreon.

Barnatt’s Talking Classics videos come at a cost, and sadly view counts won’t let him recoup that initial investment. He’s hoping that, with enough Patreon funding, he can put out a new episode on a monthly basis.

If you’ve never watched Talking Classics, Barnatt’s Neo Geo video is a great introduction.
