If there’s one rivalry that will never, ever be settled, it’s Star Wars versus Star Trek. But this mashup trailer aims to do just that, pitting Captain Kirk and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise against Darth Vader and his army of stormtroopers.
The first Star Trek reboot movie gave us the perfect setting for this battle: Vulcan, which was destroyed by a suspiciously Death Star-esque energy beam. Now it’s up to Kirk and crew—plus an unexpected ally—to stop Darth Vader before he gets any further.
This trailer was created by Alex Luthor, a champion of the mashup genre. In the past, he’s made an incredible Marvel vs. DC trailer, as well as trailers for Suicide Squad and Aquaman using clips from the lead actors’ other movies. His next project is Star Wars vs. Marvel vs. DC, which, although it kind of sounds like overkill at this point, already looks epic. Who doesn’t want to see a Darth Vader/Batman lightsaber battle?
