If you’ve ever wondered what it might sound like if the conciliatory clapping of Super Smash Bros. characters were audible after each game, you’re in luck.

YouTuber GrumpOut has gone the extra mile in simulating the smacking hand sound of each character in Super Smash Bros. Wii U, offering viewers the opportunity to experience Smash Bros. post-match screens in a new and exciting way.

The claps are quite appropriate from character to character. Gandondorf’s thudding clap stands in stark contrast to the more subtle clap of a Palutena or Peach. It’s also a reminder that Samus’s applause is always going to be noisy when she has a beam cannon covering her arm.

Special recognition should be given to Donkey Kong for his unbridled enthusiasm and to the Duck Hunt dog and duck for bringing an appropriately animalian slant to the collection of claps.

And who knew Charizard was a bit of a mouth breather?
