Game of Thrones‘ fifth season is just days away, and that means the onslaught of previous season recaps is upon us. While we’ve seen a few recaps in our day, we should have guessed hilarious duo Key and Peele would provide the ultimate in a comedy of ice and fire.
The hit Comedy Channel duo took the time before Sunday night’s premiere to offer us the best series recap we’ve seen yet, in the form of one of their hysterical short sketches. Even if you haven’t caught up on the latest drama between the Starks, the Lannisters, and the Targaryens of Westeros, you can appreciate Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele and their iconoclastic parody of the show. Playing the parts of two well-dressed valets talking shop about the iron throne, they give us the rundown on all-important characters and events like Ned Stark, the Red Wedding, “Dinkles” a.k.a. Peter Dinklage as Tyrion, “Big Dave Navarro” a.k.a. Khal Drogo, and “Taiwan Lannister.”
Spoiler alert: the sketch contains a rundown of every main character who’s been “kilt” on the show. But it also has Peele doing his best Ygritte impression, which is more than worth the risk for anyone who hasn’t yet caught up on Season 4.
