A Danish Counter-Strike player is in stable condition after an attacker slit his throat in the small hours of Sunday morning. Anders “rullox” Johannsen, a journeyman of the Danish Counter-Strike scene best known for his time in Viborg Vipers, was rushed to Aalborg hospital where he immediately underwent surgery.

According to witnesses, the incident occurred when Johannsen intervened in a quarrel between a male and female couple. The 18-year-old male, who police haven’t named, was acting violently towards the woman. Johannsen confronted him after he pushed her over a table. The man pulled out a knife and cut Johannsen’s throat before fleeing the scene.

Johannsen had surgery that required 12 staples in the wound. While recuperating he took to Facebook, telling friends that doctors said the cut narrowly missed his carotid artery. “Just 2mm closer and I’d not be sitting here today.”

Investigating police found the knife not far from where the attack took place and arrested the perpetrator shortly afterwards. A preliminary hearing was held Sunday afternoon and the attacker was remanded in custody until April 30. The inquiry was held behind closed doors.

Johannsen is expected to make a full recovery and posted photographs of his scars to his Facebook page. “’For the giant loser who tried to cut my throat in the night,” he added, “I hope you fall over on your scooter without a helmet. Karma will fuck you!”
