The Internet finally got the recognition that it’s kind of funny sometimes at the second annual 2012 Comedy Awards, presented by Comedy Central, on Sunday night.

Fans voted on five Web-related categories, including “Funniest Person on Twitter,” “Best Viral Original,” and “Best Remix, Mash-Up or Supercut.” Voting opened in April and concluded late last week. And the winners probably won’t surprise you.

Former Reno 911! star Rob Delaney won the inaugural “Funniest Person on Twitter” award, beating out fellow comedians Aziz Ansari, Stephen Colbert, and Kevin Hart.

“Songify This: Winning, a song by Charlie Sheen,” which was honored during the show, won “Best Viral Original,” beating out the funnier “7 Minutes in Heaven” and “Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis.” Galifianakis’s webshow also got a special airing on the cable network before the awards show.

“WTF with Marc Maron” won “Best Comedy Podcast” over “The Nerdist” and “How Was Your Week with Julie Klausner.” Winner for “Best Comedy App” was “Robert Kelly Live” beating out WitStream and The Onion’s mobile application.

Aside from “Best Viral Original,” the digital awards were presented separately online by Adam Scott, Aisha Tyler, and Colin Quinn, but the winners weren’t shown. Below is Tyler reading some of Mitt Romney’s supposed-tweets before presenting “Funniest Person on Twitter” award.
