On day seven of the 2012 Summer Olympics, tennis star Roger Federer survived a four-hour bout against Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina. Australia also defeated Russia in water polo, and North Korea’s Myong Sun Ri topped Great Britain’s Joanna Parker in table tennis.
Today also marks the start of the track and field competitions.
