Korean sheet masks have been trendy for a few years now thanks to Instagram, where everyone from K-beauty mavens to celebrities snap pics of them plastered on their faces. They’re also an affordable trend, costing as little as a dollar to try, and available everywhere from your local Sephora to Walgreens.

That said, not every Korean sheet mask is alike, although they may appear to be. There are several different kinds of fabrics (fiber, pulp, hydrogel, etc), as well as different ingredients tailored to certain skin challenges like acne, dryness, aging, and more. Most sheet masks will be helpful to your skin, but if you want to target specific issues, be sure to read up on what you’re buying first.

Having sheet masked more than a normal human probably should, we’re sharing our favorite Korean sheet masks with you so you’ll know what to look out for when you go skincare shopping. Wrap up your hair, get a glass of wine, and enjoy!

The best Korean sheet mask for every skin type

Mediheal X BTS Mask Sheet Special Set

Good for: treating acne, signs of aging and dry skin, fangirling

We had to put this collab at the top of our list of Korean sheet masks because it caters to K-beauty and K-pop fans so perfectly. Not only does it contain 10 of Mediheal’s excellent sheet masks (five Tea Tree and five N.M.F Aquaring Ampoule Mask EX), but it also comes with a photo card set of the biggest K-pop band in the world so you can sleep with it tucked beneath your pillow (and dream of OT7, if you’re lucky).

Tosowoong Pure mask line

korean sheet masks, best korean sheet masks, korean face masks

Good for: anti-aging, hydration

Tosowoong is a cult favorite in K-beauty circles for several reasons: the face masks are cheap, drenched with great natural ingredients, and stay moist while worn for a long time. (Pro-tip: Lesser quality sheet masks dry out faster.) Our favorites are the propolis and snail masks, but you can also choose from green tea, blueberry, aloe, and deep seawater.

Price on Amazon: $12.89 (10-pack)

Skederm Snail Jelly Face Mask

best sheet masks

Good for: extreme hydration

The idea of snail slime in your skincare may be a turnoff for some, but Korean beauty converts know that it’s the equivalent to the fountain of youth. This mask from Skederm is a terrific fit on the face, rich with moisture, and smells terrific. You can also wear it for a long time, so feel free to indulge to your heart’s content. These are especially good after a long flight, as the air on planes dehydrates your skin.

Price on Amazon: $24.95 (10-pack)

Annie’s Way Hyaluronic Acid + Seaweed Hydrating Mask

Good for: Intense moisture and a lightweight feeling

Annie’s Way masks are unlike any other mask on the market. That’s saying a lot considering how many thousands are out there, but there’s a delicacy and efficiency to these products that leave a terrific impression. The Hyaluronic + Seaweed has been a fave for me lately since I am a dry skin type, but you really can’t go wrong with any mask this brand makes. Glowie has a ton of their other options too, so check them out.

Price on Glowie: $3.25 each

My Beauty Diary Black Pearl Brightening Mask

Good for: brightening, anti-aging

I’m cheating a bit by including My Beauty Diary on this list, as it’s actually a Taiwanese brand rather than Korean. But its products are so excellent I felt it’d be an oversight to leave them out of a best masks lineup. An incredibly thin, light mask, it’s great for everything from deep hydration to anti-aging. It also smells absolutely delicious and is cut smaller than most masks, so if you have a small to medium-sized face you’ll love the way it fits.

Price on Glowie: $14 (8-pack)

Banobagi Vita Genic Jelly Mask collection

Good for: hydration, brightening, texture, anti-aging

This unusual mask comes out of the package feeling a bit gloppy. That’s because it’s a jelly mask, which is loaded with even more hydration ingredients than the average mask. The results of this mask are extremely notable and ideal if you want to get that “K-beauty glow.” I was awed by its results the first time I tried it, and there have been many, many Banobagi masking nights since.

Price on Amazon: $21.50 (10-pack)

NOHJ Aqua Soothing Mask

Good for: hydration, anti-aging, brightening

No:hj easily makes some of the finest masks in K-beauty, hands down. Their texture is as delicate as tissue paper, but they’re soaked with moisture and can be worn for over an hour without any major loss of product from the fabric. That’s pretty insane in the world of masks. If you have a long plane ride ahead of you this is a perfect option to take along if you’d like to pump your skin full of goodness before you take a nap. Amazon also has dozens of different types to choose from, so make sure to look around.

Price on Amazon: $25 (10-pack)

Papa Recipe Bombee Honey Mask

Good for: acne, an intense dose of hydration, smelling delicious

Papa Recipe’s delightful Bombee Honey mask is packed with Manuka honey, an ingredient that soothes troubled skin and fights acne. There’s also hyaluronic acid in there, and you already know what a miracle ingredient that is. This mask is free of parabens, sulfates, dyes, and fillers and is 100% cruelty-free. Plus, it stays moist on your face for up to an hour. What more could you want?

Price on Amazon: $24.90 (10-pack)

Sulwhasoo EX Whitening mask

best sheet masks

Good for: spoiling the hell out of yourself

Inexpensive sheet masks often have a lot of offer, but this mask is not one of those. Sulwhasoo is a high-end Korean luxury brand, which is why these masks have a higher price tag (roughly $9.39 per mask). That said, the line continuously delivers indulgent results and incredibly glowing skin, so if you have the money to burn, we say go for it.

Price on Amazon: $91.90 (10-pack)

Peach & Lily Original Glow Sheet Mask

Good for: basically everything

I try so many sheet masks that most of them tend to seem similar to me, but not this one. Boy, not this one. Alicia Yoon, Peach & Lily’s founder, takes an incredibly thoughtful approach to the skincare line she created (read our full interview with her here). The Original Glow sheet mask doesn’t just moisturize, but also includes AHA, which has a bit more punch than what’s in most sheet masks. I cannot recommend enough that you keep these stocked.

Price on Peach & Lily: $6 each or $79 (20-pack)

Mediheal Mask-querade Code Red Mask

Good for: looking fancy AF while you mask

Not only are these sheet masks from Mediheal the ideal weight for all skin types, but they are fantastically fun. The masquerade-inspired design on the packaging is exactly what the product inside looks like, meaning you’ll look quite fanciful as you mask. This one comes in four varieties to address whitening, moisture, toning, and “glossy” skin. Of course, each variety has a different mask as well. These are fabulous for a girls’ gathering or a wedding shower as you can marvel over each other’s fancy faces.

Price on Amazon: $14.95

Lovemore Pearl Barley & Milk

Good for: you need a quick glow-up

As long as I’m bending the rules of what this posts includes, I have to mention another excellent Taiwanese sheet mask: Lovemore’s Pearl Barley & Milk. Taiwanese masks often opt for silk at their material, which is just a fabulous experience on every level. I saw noticeable brightening effects after one use of this mask, and even more impressive, I wore it for an hour and it was still damp when I peeled it off. Add all that to the low price, and I am thoroughly impressed with Lovemore’s mask game here.

Price on Glowie: $3.35 or $14.50 (5-pack)

May Coop Raw Sheet

Good for: dryness, wrinkles, anti-aging, brightening

If the name May Coop sounds familiar to you but you can’t place it, it’s probably because you glanced at it on Sephora’s carefully curated Korean beauty display. The company has been very picky about what K-brands it carries, but May Coop is one of them thanks to its Raw Sauce, which uses Maple Sap (as does this mask) to moisturize and revitalize the skin. The mask is cotton and will leave you with a really nice glow.

Price on Peach & Lily: $6 each

JayJun Rose Blossom Mask

sheet masks

Good for: a solid hour of quality masking time

Tired of masks that dry out after 20 minutes? This Rose Blossom mask not only stays moist on your face for one hour or more but also clings beautifully and has a much better fit than cheaper masks. Heaven for fans of rose scents, and excellent to use after exposure to the chilly wind, flights, and more.

Price on Amazon: $14.89

Kose Clear Turn Hyaluronic Acid Facial Mask

Good for: masking every day

If you don’t do a lot of sheet masking, you may wonder why some Asian sheet masks are $1 – $2 each while others are closer to $9. The pricing depends on how much essence is packed in, what additional ingredients are included and more. With a mask like the Clear Turn, the masks are thinner and less drenched, but they are also meant to be worn for the minimum recommended time (sometimes as little as five minutes) so you can get on with your day. They’re also eco-friendly as they come in a recyclable package, which is more than we can say for the individually packaged masks! If you’d like more green options for masking, check out our guide here.

Naruko Snail Essence Intense Hydra Repair Mask

korean sheet masks, best korean sheet masks, korean face masks

Good for: looking like you slept well

Naruko masks are insanely effective, especially for their price point. They hit all the checkmarks I look for in a great sheet mask: rich essence, good scent, stays moist for an hour or more. But I also wake up the next day after doing one with majorly reduced dark circles and looking rested. That’s like magic in a package, and every mask in the line seems to have that effect. I cannot recommend them enough. At the moment the Snail Essence is my favorite, but you can’t go wrong with any of them.

Price on Amazon: $19.95

Peach & Lily Peach Slices Masks

Good for: masking on a budget

Not only are the Peach Slices masks crazy affordable at $2 a pop, but they come from the Peach & Lily folks, so the quality is in line with everything else the brand makes. They’re made of cotton, well-soaked in essence, and smell lovely––which is all impressive for such an inexpensive sheet mask. A 4-pack should cover everything from brightening to calming and firming.

Price on Peach & Lily: $8 (4-pack)

Naruko Narcissus Repairing DNA Mask

korean sheet masks, best korean sheet masks, korean face masks

Good for: brightening, anti-aging

Naruko’s Korean sheet masks have earned the acclaim of many a K-beauty blogger in recent months, and it’s easy to see why after trying its masks. The Narcissus Repairing mask is unique in that it has ear flaps, meaning you will also get a dose of moisture in spots typical masks do not reach. Lightly scented and excellent for brightening, fine lines and curing dryness, it’s perfect for when you want to soak in a hot bath for a bit.

Price on Amazon: $19.95
