22 years after the release of the landmark Japanese film, Kenji Kawai’s moody electronic score for Ghost in the Shell still holds the test of time. It’s still available in digital and CD format, but this brand new Ghost in the Shell vinyl edition is coming soon.

Cut from the original master reels at Emil Berliner Studios, the Ghost in the Shell vinyl will come in two formats. The standard LP seems just fine, but the special edition is clearly made for collectors. It comes with a bonus 7″ tucked into the sleeve with silver gilt printing, a Japanese obi, and 24-page liner notes.

Released by Switzerland-based We Release Whatever The Fuck We Want Records, this is the first official vinyl release of the score. It’s been heavily bootlegged in the past, but if you’d like an official edition to add to your collection, here you go.

The regular edition is $23.99 and the limited edition is $39.99 and both will be released on July 14. Forget all about that Scarlett Johansson-helmed trainwreck and go back to the world of Ghost in the Shell you fell in love with two decades ago.
