Have you ever wondered what to get the leader of the free world for his birthday?:

That was the questioned posed to thousands of Twitter users Wednesday morning by ABC’s Rick Klein on the eve of President Barack Obama’s 50th birthday.

Following the nail biting debt ceiling debacle, many Twitter users were none too kind to the commander-in-chief.

“A DVD of “Caveman” you know, because he caved,” tweeted Bonnie Cavanagh.

“A book on economics” tweeted Jne, from Texas.

“The book ‘The Complete Idiot’s Guide to U.S. Government and Politics.’ Too harsh?” tweeted Jeremy Trist, of Indianapolis.

Other people were more sympathetic toward the president.

“A more intelligent/reasonable country to preside over,” tweeted CeeMmKay.

“A Congress that knows how to work together for the good of the people and the country,” tweeted Janet Bussi, of Pittsburgh.

And some people just kept their gift suggestions light hearted.

“For the road to recovery, I’d get #Obama50 some limited edition USA New Balance 574s,” tweeted Mark Chambers.

“New golf clubs,” tweeted Tyler Junger, of Madison, Wis.

“A better jump shot,” tweeted Alex Howard, a correspondent with O’Reilly Media.
