A GoFundMe campaign to raise money for the victims of the deadly shooting in Las Vegas has reached $3 million.
The crowdfunding page was launched by Clark County Commission chair Steve Sisolak on Monday, one day after the massacre that left 59 dead and more than 500 injured. The campaign quickly reached its initial $2 million goal and is now inching toward a new $3.5 million target. Among the more than 43,000 people who contributed are Mike Tyson, the Chainsmokers, and the Oakland Raiders football team. Las Vegas businessman Stephen Cloobeck gave $400,000 to the campaign. GoFundMe promised to donate another $150,000.

Sisolak, who is running for Nevada governor, created the campaign and pledged $10,000 after he spent the night with Sheriff Joseph Lombardo in Clark County’s only level-one trauma center, “We are raising funds to assist the victims of the tragic Las Vegas shooting,” Sisolak wrote on the campaign page.
On Oct. 1, a gunman identified by police as Stephen Paddock fired bullets down on concertgoers from the 32nd floor of a Las Vegas strip casino. The mass shooting is considered the deadliest in U.S. history.
