As President Donald Trump continues to deride the free press as the enemy of the American people—he did so again in a number of early Sunday morning tweets—he won’t stop talking about the so-called “fake news.” Now, even one Fox News personality has accused one of her colleagues of spreading it.
At a rally in Ohio on Saturday, Trump mentioned the Fox News workers he loves the most—as Mediaite pointed out, that included Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, and Tucker Carlson along with Fox and Friends co-hosts Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt and Brian Kilmead.
Jeanine Pirro, who has interviewed Trump a number of times since he was elected president, did not get a shoutout. Her colleague, Jesse Watters, thought that was funny enough to mention on the air. After Trump’s rally ended, Watters on his Fox News show Watters World joked, “Well Judge Jeanine’s very upset because she was not mentioned there by the president. I think I heard her throw a glass in the green room.”
That apparently didn’t sit well with Pirro, who tweeted, “really? I ‘wasn’t happy and threw a glass in the green room’. You’re adding credence to the concept of fake news.”

At the end of his show, Watters said he was only joking. Watters said, “By the way, she never threw anything against the wall in the green room. I was kidding. That was a joke. Judge Jeanine is the best. We love her. I love her. And I know she knows that.”
Trump, however, is not kidding when he blasts the media.
Trump wrote on Twitter on Sunday morning, “The Fake News hates me saying that they are the Enemy of the People only because they know it’s TRUE. I am providing a great service by explaining this to the American People. They purposely cause great division & distrust. They can also cause War! They are very dangerous & sick!”

Last month, five journalists were murdered in the newsroom of the Capital Gazette in Maryland, and many believe Trump’s rhetoric continues to put media members in danger.
