Like his status—or else

Maybe this is why Facebook doesn't have a "dislike" button.

Benito Apolinar, of Pecos, Texas, pleaded not guilty to battery charges stemming from a fight with his wife after she did not “like” his Facebook status.

“That’s amazing everyone ‘likes’ my status but you, you’re my wife. You should be the first one to ‘like’ my status,” he told Dolores Apolinar, according to police reports. The two began to fight and Apolinar allegedly punched his wife in the cheek and pulled her hair.

It’s not clear exactly what Apolinar wrote in his status that his wife decided was not likable, but police said it had to do with the anniversary of his mother’s death. None of the five people named Benito Apolinar that show up in a search of the 800-million member social network have private profiles.

Apolinar and his wife had recently separated. Police said Apolinar was drunk when they arrested him shortly after the fight.
