It’s always nice when white people get it. Josh Welch, 17, went to his high school’s Culture Day dressed as a thief—because, he says, “White people steal everyone’s culture.” Or, as they often like to say, “discover” it.

Lots of people are praising Welch for his costume, though, of course, there are those in his mentions who insist white people have lots of culture. Which they do! They just also seem to want to take everyone else’s culture without credit.

Welch also told BuzzFeed one of his teachers said he shouldn’t “make political statements” with costumes, but that most of the other students thought it was great.

White people looking for a Halloween costume, this is one you’re free to steal.
