Summer and its unbearable heat may already be barreling towards us, but don’t sweat – there’s plenty of May game releases worth playing.

Sure, every gamer and their grandma already has their hype glasses on for E3. But hold your horses, peeps! We’re not there yet, and there’s plenty of great games to enjoy until the big gaming conference. And remember, when you pre-order with Prime you save 20% at checkout.

1) Sega Genesis Classics

If you’re still mad about Sonic no longer being chubby and silent, this compilation will make you grimace with joy. This compilation includes 50 classics from the Genesis era including the Sonic, Streets of Rage, and Phantasy Star series. It comes packed with new features like saving your game, rewinding slip ups, and online multiplayer achievements. Plus, it costs about half as much as a typical game.

2) Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition

All the DLC comes packed in, so you can play as all 29 characters including Ganondorf, Tetra, and yes, even Tingle. Additionally, Zelda and Link come with new fancy Breath of the Wild costumes. 3) Dragon’s Crown Pro

As far as side-scrolling action-RPGs go, there are few as visually stunning as Dragon’s Crown. The art by Vanillaware brings the characters, dungeons, and even food of Hydeland to life. This edition comes with all the DLC from previous versions. You can even import your save file and play online with the PS3 and Vita versions.

4) State of Decay 2 – Ultimate Edition

The zombie apocalypse thing is so ho-hum. That is, unless you’re playing the State of Decay series. Not only will you be fighting the hoards, you’ll be scavenging for survival. Build up your camp with fellow survivors, craft better defenses and weapons and struggle to survive every day against the undead menace. 5) Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

Everyone chill, there’s a new Donkey Kong game coming. Well, it came out on the Wii U but you probably forgot it happened so it might as well be new. Play as Donkey, Diddy, Dixie, Cranky, and version exclusive Funky Kong. And because Funky is so cool and nearly invincible, it’s perfect for platforming newbies to jump in.
