Whether you’re planning a getaway, destination wedding, or a family visit, we all want a good deal on booking flights. Thanks to tracking trends, finding out the best time to travel is easier than ever. This is very useful when planning your next trip.

Just because you’re on a budget doesn’t mean your vacation has to feel half-assed. CheapAir.com combed through 11,000 different airfares to identify travel trends occurring from June 1 through the end of September. Here are some helpful tips listed on its site that will help you save big on airfare.

Now, you can splurge elsewhere and actually enjoy your vacation.

June

If your travel time is limited to summer break, June is the best month to fly if you want to save some cash. Pro tip: If you choose to fly on a Tuesday instead of a Sunday you’ll save an average of $64 on airfare.

July

Since it’s smack dab in the middle of summer, it’s no surprise that July is the most expensive time to travel. If you’re on a budget, Sundays in July are to be avoided, especially the Sunday following the Fourth of July weekend (it’s been named the most expensive travel day of the summer). Flying home on the Saturday or Monday following the Fourth can save you some sweet dough.

August

August offers some of the best travel rates of summer break. CheapAir.com found that flights in August are roughly seven percent  cheaper than flights in July, with the best prices found towards the end of the month.

September

September offers some of the best flight deals of the summer (just in time for cooler weather!). So if your schedule is flexible but you still would like to stay on budget, September is the best time for you to travel. And if you’re looking to travel Labor Day weekend, the sooner you book your flight the better. The holiday weekend tends to become pricier as it approaches, so keep it in mind!
