A strange scene unfolded Friday night in the mixed martial art’s Prison City Fight League, in which an amateur flyweight named Mike Pantangco tapped out of his bout against Jeremy Rasner after dominating just about every aspect of the fight.

Asked later about his decision, the Jackson, Mich., resident told Inside MMA that he just felt like “there’s no point fighting him because he didn’t train against me and I didn’t train for him.

“We’re amateur fighters,” he added. “We don’t get money. We don’t get paid. The only thing I’m going to finish the fight is him to go in the hospital or get hurt. I just feel terrible, so I’m just going to give him the win.”

Basically, “I was beating him up so bad that I gave him the win.”

That’s one way to do it.
