A Clarksville, Tennessee, father indulged his toddler’s babbling in a video that went viral this week. Their conversation was anything but one-sided.
The video, posted to Facebook by the child’s mother Shanieke Pryor on June 4, shows her son having a full conversation with his father, Deztin Pryor, while watching television.
“He needs his own show,” Shanieke Pryor wrote in her original post.
The video was reposted to Twitter by @_11Remember_. Users tweeted about Deztin Pryor’s interaction with his son and praised him for his parenting style and attention paid to his son.
“Building social skills at a young age can make your life so much better and easier,” @FordFocus96 said. “I had to learn this stuff embarrassingly late in my development.”

This stuff is so important. Building social skills at a young age can make your life so much better and easier. I had to learn this stuff embarrassingly late in my development.

I actually use to do this with my son years ago, and as he grew up he had one hell of a fine vocabulary under his grasp for a little guy – no joke. This kid’s going somewhere!

Among the tweets praising Pryor for taking his child seriously, some lamented the lack of this kind of interaction with their own fathers.
“This makes me sad cuz bro i never had a fun chat with my dad like that cuz he never took interest in me,” one user said.
