Two of Europe’s most vaunted brands meet on Tuesday when Manchester United travels to Camp Nou for a do-or-die quarterfinal against Barcelona. If you have a cable or streaming live TV login and can watch TNT online, you’re all set. Their apps will accept your subscription’s user ID and you can throw it on the office’s Apple TV. But if you’ve cut the cord like I have, one must compare and contrast. The game is going to be a thriller too—it’s full of more headliners than Coachella and all the pressure is on Messi, Lukaku, Pogba, Suarez, someone to step up and secure a berth in the UEFA Champions League semifinals. Here’s what you need to know to watch Barcelona vs. Manchester United online for free.

Barcelona vs. Manchester United: Why it matters

The first leg at Old Trafford was sleepy and conservative—Barcelona broke through for a 1-0 lead it carries home thanks to a Luke Shaw own-goal. But these UCL quarterfinals have a tendency to start slow and snowball into desperate tactics and brave performances in stoppage time. Plus, there’s a precedent for classic comebacks: Man U is here because, after losing 2-0 at home to Paris Saint-Germain in the round of 16, the Red Devils trounced Neymar’s boys in Paris 3-1 to knock out a fellow collection of high-dollar mercenaries. However, Manchester United needs to find goals and that means dusting off Chilean striker Alexis Sanchez, whom ESPN reports may make his first return appearance in seven games since a hamstring injury. Barcelona? You’re getting Lionel Messi and death by a thousand short passes, though Barcelona hasn’t won the Champions League since, somehow, 2015. It’s hard to imagine a team so dialed in will make it easy for the English opposition.
