Netflix announced Friday that it is bringing back to life Unsolved Mysteries with help from the show’s original creators and producers in addition to an executive producer from Stranger Things.

“This modern take on the classic series will maintain the chilling feeling viewers loved about the original, while also telling the stories through the lens of a premium Netflix documentary series,” Netflix said in a press release.

The show, which originally ran from 1987 to 1997, is about paranormal activities, conspiracy theories, murder, and missing persons—and even touches on extraterrestrial beings and UFOs.

News of the reboot has people ready to get spooky.

The showrunner of the new series will be Terry Dunn Meurer, one of the original creators of the series. Co-creator John Cosgrove will also be involved in the reboot, serving as its executive producer.

Stranger Things producer Shawn Levy and Josh Barry are executive producing for 21 Laps, the production company involved with the reboot.

The original Unsolved Mysteries ran for 11 seasons, consisting of 260 episodes and 1,000 stories, spanning from the 1980s to the late 1990s. The show was critically acclaimed, winning six Emmy nominations in its time.

Fan favorite Robert Stack hosted the docuseries from 1987 to 2002, which originally aired on NBC. The show was then hosted by a few different people as it changed network hands several times.

The host of the new docuseries is very important for fans, as many feel no one could ever fill the shoes of its original host.

“It won’t be the same without the ominous voice of Robert Stack,” Twitter user @Vindicator725 said.
