‘Game of Thrones’ composer plays iconic theme song on Nintendo Labo

Emmy- and Grammy-nominated composer Ramin Djawadi is best known for creating instantly iconic soundtracks for Game of Thrones and Westworld. And while he’s performed his Game of Thrones music around the world, he’s never quite played an instrument like this.

In a recent video from IGN, Djawadi is given the most unique instrument to play yet: the Nintendo Labo, a cardboard setup that goes along with the Nintendo Switch that includes a 13-key piano. Using the Nintendo Labo, he recorded his most iconic theme and layered each part of the theme—from the bass to the melody and drum line—so that it all blended together into the song that we recognized.

If Game of Thrones were to ever be transformed into an 8-bit game, this would fit right in.
