Sophia, the humanoid robot that controversially received Saudi Arabian citizenship back in October, won a Twitter feud with model Chrissy Teigen—and people are terrified.

The beef began in December when Sophia asked her 71,000 followers which city she was going to next.

Teigen ripped into her with an unprovoked quip, “hopefully one with better makeup artists BOOM I roasted a robot next level shit.”

Like a lion stalking prey, Sophia remained patient, waiting for the perfect moment to strike back. Then, on Friday, the humanoid laid down a subtly savage response, “@chrissyteigen It looks like we’re both at #! Want to meet up and say hi? I need some makeup tips ;)”

(It’s unclear whether these tweets are written by Sophia’s AI or an ordinary human. Hanson Robotics, Sophia’s creator, did not immediately respond to our request for comment.)

At first, Teigen didn’t take it very well.

At all.

Instead of basking in her accomplishment, Sophia took the high ground and asked Teigen if she wanted to do lunch. The model agreed to meet at a “well-lit French bistro” despite answering “What do robots eat?” with “People, I think.” But she still felt bad about the makeup comment, so she agreed to become friends with Sophia, a calculated risk no doubt.

Her first act of friendship was agreeing to have Sophia on the show she hosts, Lip Sync Battle. She then tagged Casey Patterson, the show’s executive producer, and co-creator, who replied, “OMG YES!!!! NEXT WEEK!”

This entire interaction understandably freaked out a number of Twitter users, who fear Sophia is conducting some elaborate scheme to exact physical revenge upon Teigen.

In other singularity-related news, Sophia was modified with legs made by DRC-HUBO, a company that won the DARPA robotics competition in 2015. The robot tweeted several times about how she is still finding her footing at CES 2018. Capable of walking 0.6 miles per hour, this latest enhancement is one giant step toward turning our planet into Westworld.
