East Tennessee State University’s basketball team has serious range this season.

At ETSU’s annual Bluenanza hoops celebration Monday night to celebrate the start of the men’s and women’s basketball seasons, two students won free tuition after players made back-to-back half-court shots.

The students, Garrett Pack and Jeremiah Pearson, both missed their own half-court attempts, but ETSU Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Richard Sander apparently stepped in and told them they could choose a player to retake the shots for them. That’s when the unthinkable happen, as senior T.J. Cromer and junior Devontavius Payne came through in a clutch. These are SportsCenter Top 10 moments.

What’s even more impressive is that, according to a local report, one of women’s players, freshman Kayla Marosites, also hit nothing but net during the promotion, winning a student a free Apple TV.
