According to an email sent out to select Netflix users, passwords and emails were reset on Friday as a precautionary measure after the streaming giant discovered a massive release of credentials.

A writer at Lost Remote was among the group who received Netflix’s notification.

“As part of our regular security monitoring, we discovered that credentials that match your Netflix email address and password were included in a release of email addresses and passwords from a breach at another company,” Netflix said in its email.

At this point it is unclear what Netflix means by “a breach” or what the other company is.

In an email shared with Thrillist, another user was also part of those warned about a security breach.

“We believe that your Netflix account credentials may have been included in a recent release of email addresses and passwords from an older breach at another company. Just to be safe, we’ve reset your password as a precautionary measure,” it read.

Changing your password might be a good idea just to play it safe. Make up a really complex password, and follow “How can I keep my Netflix account secure?” Do it early and often.
